Hygge Is Organic and on Stockerist

So what is hygge? Hygge is a Danish word for a state of coziness, a feeling of warmth and wellbeing that arises from doing simple things such as lighting candles, spending time with yourself or loved ones, and being in the moment of this togetherness perhaps with a soft blanket, always with a warm drink.

My name is Ole.  I’m from Denmark, and in Denmark we like to ‘hygge’. 

In Sweden, where I live, this would be ‘fika’, and from our friendly neighbors in Norway, it’s ‘kos’. So what is hygge? Hygge is a Danish word for a state of cosiness, a feeling of warmth and wellbeing that arises from doing simple things such as lighting candles, spending time with yourself or loved ones, and being in the moment of this togetherness perhaps with a soft blanket, always with a warm drink.

Some speculate the word might originate from the word ‘hug’. Hug comes from the 1560s word hugge, which means “to embrace”. This would be quite fitting.

At Organic Hygge, we like to create products that make a good hygge.  We’ve started with Orgnaic Cocoa and Organic Chai Latte, each with it’s own warm and fuzzy hygge flavors, but this is just the beginning.
